Quick Fix: Day and Night

I am not at the office again for reasons related to buzzwords: root canal, antibiotics, retainer, xrays, etc.  It's a fun thing being an adult some days (not).  So I have a quick fix: Day and Night items I currently <3.  I am definitely one for collections of small things, but scents are one category I haven't budged in much.  Our summers are full of heat, humidity, and sticky evenings where you get attacked by swarms of bugs. Literally. And I'm the girl sitting there with about 20 red bumps after just a few minutes.  So I go light on the perfume spritzes except in winter.  The items on the left are my day go-tos and the ones on the right my night or evening go-tos.  For night, there's a little more gloss, more flare, and a heavier scent as well. The Armani Code has been my favorite for two years now; I guess maybe I should look into expanding my collection. It's quite the opposite from the day's Juicy Couture Perfume.

Quick Fix: My Morning Must-Haves

I'm out of sorts today with a pretty hefty dental appt.- so while it is a make-up free day, it's not a product free day.  Above, I have my every day needs: Mascara, highlighter, pore minimizer, cream blush, eyelash curler and crease-free eyelid base. Below, and what I use every.single.day (even if I don't leave the house) which includes daily moisturizer, eye cream, moisturizing sunblock (I couldn't find SPF30 last time!), and lastly face-wash and exfoliator.  Ever since discovering and now cherishing Birchbox, I've finally been branching out to try new things and figure out what can work into my daily routine.  These are my favorites so far!

(Hot) Pink Pop

The sun, the sun, my darling, my hamburger. (catch that movie reference at the end?).  I needed a dose of happy and today it's the (hot) pink pop of a cardigan.  My desk is feeling a bit cluttered so I think I need to clear the space to clear my head.  What a busy week; months I should say.  The white lace and frilly tank top today is something I normally reserve for spring and summer, but I just don't own many white blouses that don't have cutouts included or very see-through lace.  None of those can cut it here (at the office).  I've got a jade ring, beads from India, and silver bangles for accessories today.  I'm seriously hoping I can retire my wool skirts sooner than later and enjoy all this sunlight with matching temps.

Blue Green and Pleats

Shh.... I'm wearing a green necklace with a blue v-neck sweater today.  It's a bit turquoisey so it's starting to blend in. My many-times worn pleated plaid skirt is just perfect for the winter.  The bit of sun today had me excited about more lip color so I'm less yellow and pale than I normally am.  I can't stop raving about the Tarte energy Lipsurgence which is a lip crayon that goes on a like a balm, gives you that tingly mint sensation and then changes color dependent on your lip's temp.  UH-mazeballs.  It's like super smart high tech lipstick. Except it's a crayon. Like a balm. <3.  I've only just layered a long sleeved white tee under the sweater since I'm playing up the necklace.  But, I've forgotten my earrings today! (travesty, I know). Blue and green can pretty much work together as long as they aren't competing for the same attention.

Wool and Silk

Hi there, Monday.  I've got a macchiato in hand and am layered up nicely in wool and silk.  No boots today! (gasp).  My wool cardigan (wool flower broche included) is layered over a long-sleeved tee with a silk collar, and paired with a purple silk skirt, black tights (always, it seems) and leopard print flats.  I am not exactly sure how I ended up with green, black, purple, more black, and leopard today but the textures keep it a bit coordinated.  My hair is half up half down and trying not to get attacked by static today.  I've also got a single strand of pearls, a chunky bracelet, and cuffed ring that give it that old romantic feel coming from the wool broche. Lovely for almost the end of Feb.

Prints and Khaki

I'm in love with violet in that rich, deep, luxurious shade.  And when it's prints and khaki together it's even better!  Its not sweater weather out, so I skipped layering this shirt like I usually do, but am finding that I love the deep violet print on the lighter purple.  Lovely.  I unfortunately lost of one my black studded hoops over the last few weeks, and then was pleasantly surprised to get a new pave seat of bowtie earrings which are even sweeter for spring.  And sparkly, because let's talk about what's important in life. It's also a venti and multi-beverage kind of day even though it's Friday.  This week has just been harder than the last few.  I have a pretty wicked dental appt. next Thursday, so I'll try to think of something special to post instead of my possible sweats ensemble (because hours-long at a dental office calls for it).  My khaki tulip skirt is one of my faves, even though it tends to add some bulk to a look, the pockets and skinny belt give it just a tad of casualness and dressiness.  I'm looking forward to a non-snowed in Saturday.

Painted Flowers

I've been absolutely bitten by the subscription box bug!  I've got a few things even lying around the office with me from @lootcrate and @goldentote and I guess always some @birchbox supples around.  I hope to do a mini-review of my first goldentote, but I'm actually on the fence about swapping one item in it while I just LURVE the item I got to pick.  Speaking of lurving things, this Isaac Mizrahi skirt is one of my favorite things I own.  It's also hard to match and pair with just about everything.  Today was the first time I've paired with this Vera Wang long-sleeved tee of painted flowers and I guess it's muted enough to match. But not.  I feel like I need to invest in a replacement wow-factor skirt but then I'd have less of the challenge to make my wardrobe "work for me."  My cute little solar-powered panda has been dancing on and off lately, and the sound is like a metronome (I remember clearly from years' past piano lessons) but happy.  Because panda= awesome.  I know, I should really stop with the black boots and tights.  Come spring, I swear I will!

Navy and Oatmeal

It's late in the day for me, but I had full morning (you'll notice the bandaid on my index finger from today's closeup IG pic).  So I'm here with my navy dress and oatmeal cardigan now!  I was adamant to find the perfect oatmeal color cardigan that was not 3/4 sleeved and it took me quite awhile.  Then I did find the perfect one (lovely Gap) and though it's supposed to be the neutral that goes with all neutrals, I realized I barely have any neutrals for it to match!  I don't have a ton of browns, grays, whites, but I do have just a few things in navy and black.  I offer up a closer look at this month's flip calendar map from Rifle Paper Co.  I've never been to Europe, but London seems delightful.  Just like yesterday, I am feeling a big leopardy so my flats say it all.  And I'm starting to notice an abundance of pink accessories around; that might be some influence from reading ourcitylights.org so often

Leaves and Leopard

See those knobby knees?!  It's a singular warm-ish day here and I'm totally milking it.  Gone are my boots and black/blue tights and just yay!  Except I'm utterly pale.  My knees need more sun, seriously.  I was happy to wear my high-waisted maroon pencil skirt and leopard-print cardi, but I just couldn't find a fitted top that didn't have embelishments that would compete with the leopard spots.  So. I grabbed a tee.  A regular ol' black fitted cotton tee with leaf prints (at least, I think they're leaves) and my favorite oxfords (now with sole inserts, which they extremely totally needed).  Then two co-workers surprised me with their lovely finds (all for me!) included giant "Texas-sized" peeps that are Easter bunnies and the new Next Direct catalog full of things adorbs.  I totally tried out a new sample size of dry shampoo and it's given me a bunch of poof, but I'm not sure how much I like the extra volume.  I also just snagged the new Limited Birchbox with favorites and added a Klorane dry shampoo to the order; let's see how awesome that one will be and if it holds up to the reviews.  If you're ever up for trying out Birchbox monthly- use my invite here: https://www.birchbox.com/invite/Nazzy and enjoy!

Candy and Sequins

Happy Valentine's Day!  I wish now I had invested in some extravagant sequined red something or other, but I just don't have much non-casual wear in red.  And red's my second favorite color!  So instead today I have a little bit of sequins to go with bits of candy.  I threw in a pic of my hearty breakfast just because it was full of awesome.  I don't know a lot of people that get excited about potatoes for breakfast, but I always prefer savory and it will be the highlight before dishing into the countless sweets the day brings.  Plus, I received a gift from a little friend in the form of a braided rubberband bracelet, which I hear is all the rage.  My top is dressier than normal, but my black/white/gray skirt and gray tights, and gray cardigan were shouting for something less bland (which is where red would have been handy). I'm wearing a simple diamond charm heart key (from my grandmother) to show some more love.
